🍩 National Donut Day Fun! 🍩
Our summer school students had a sweet start to their day last week with a special visit to the local Dunkin’ on West Boughton Road to celebrate National Donut Day!
A big thank you to the team at Dunkin’ for helping make this outing such a memorable experience for our students. We appreciate your warm welcome and support of our school community!
We think Mr. Blaney really hit the nail on the head with this interview - to Raven Francis, and all of our students, we care about you deeply, love being a part of your journey, and watching all of you grow. Congrats to all of our 2026 exiting students!

Today our students had the honor of volunteering at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, placing flags at the gravesites of our nation’s veterans. 🇺🇸
This meaningful experience gave students the opportunity to show gratitude and respect for the men and women who served our country. As they carefully placed each flag, they reflected on the sacrifices made by so many to protect our freedoms.
We are incredibly proud of our students for demonstrating compassion, service, and patriotism in such a powerful way. Thank you to Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery for allowing us to be part of this important tradition as we remember and honor our heroes.

Our annual end-of-the-year picnic was the perfect way to celebrate another amazing school year together! ☀️🌳
A huge thank you to the Village of Bolingbrook for allowing us to gather at their beautiful space by the Village Hall. We are so grateful for the continued support our community shows our students and staff.
We were also honored to have Mayor Mary Alexander-Basta stop by to spend time with our students! Their smiles said it all as they enjoyed games, food, laughter, and making memories together. ❤️
What a wonderful way to wrap up a year full of growth, friendships, and accomplishments!
Yesterday we celebrated a truly special milestone as our students walked across the stage at our Exit Ceremony. 🌟
Many of these young adults began their journeys with VVSD all the way back in early childhood, and watching the growth, confidence, resilience, and independence they’ve developed over the years has been incredible. From their first days learning and growing in our classrooms to preparing for life beyond school, they have overcome challenges, built lasting friendships, discovered their strengths, and made our program so proud.
We are honored to have been part of their journey and cannot wait to see all the amazing things ahead for each of them. Congratulations to the Class of 2026 — your future is bright!

Our Smiling Hearts club spent time creating care packages for at-risk children in our community and had the opportunity to personally deliver them to the Bolingbrook Police Department. 💙
We are so proud of our students for showing compassion, kindness, and a heart for helping others. Small acts of care can make a big impact, and these students are helping spread smiles one package at a time.
