For the past 20 years, you've gathered around our tables, shared countless plates of paella and pintxos, raised a glass with us, celebrated Basque culture, and supported our family and this little Market in more ways than we can count.
Sunday was a beautiful reminder of why we started this journey in the first place: good food, family, culture, and community.

Two generations. One family. And a whole lot of history on the Basque Block. 🤍
Tony and Tara have owned The Basque Market since 2006, but the story behind it began long before they opened the doors.
For Tony, Basque culture is something he was born into. The recipes, traditions, and sense of community he grew up with were passed down through generations of the Eiguren family.
For Tara, it was a love of the food, hospitality, and the little details that make people feel at home.
And then there's their daughter, Itxaso, who quite literally grew up at The Basque Market. Today, you'll find her in the kitchen carrying on the same traditions she watched her parents build their lives around.
For us, this has always been about more than food. It's family, culture, community, and making sure the traditions that came before us have a place in the generations still to come.
We're so grateful you get to be part of the story, too.

This Sunday, September 13, we’re celebrating 20 years of The Basque Market, and at 6 PM the party moves to the Basque Center for a FREE celebration open to the public.
No ticket. No reservation. Just come celebrate with us!
We’ll have live music, a no-host bar, and plenty of friends, neighbors, and Boise Basque community members gathering to toast the past 20 years.
Our ticketed dinner will take place beforehand, but you do not need to attend dinner to join the party at 6 PM.
Whether you’ve been part of The Basque Market family for 20 years or discovered us last week, we’d love to celebrate this milestone with you. 🤍

Come celebrate 20 years with us on the Basque Block! 🥂
Join us on Sunday, September 13 as we celebrate two decades of great food, w**e, and community.
The evening begins with ticketed pintxos, dinner, and drinks, but the celebration doesn't stop there.
At 6:00 PM, everyone is invited to the after-party at the Basque Center! Enjoy live music, a no-host bar, and celebrate alongside friends, neighbors, and the Boise Basque community. No ticket is required for the after-party, and all are welcome. 🎶
If you'd like to join us for dinner, tickets are $75 and include pintxos, a family-style meal, plus w**e and b**r.
Whether you've been visiting us for 20 years or it's your first time on the Basque Block, we'd love to celebrate with you.
People often ask why we're known for paella when it's not actually a Basque dish.
For us, the answer is simple.
Paella is Spain's national dish, and while we know it didn't originate in the Basque Country, rather Valencia, it's a meal that's meant to bring people together. It's cooked in one pan, shared around the table, and enjoyed with family, friends, and conversation.
That spirit feels right at home here at The Basque Market.
Over the years, we've made paella part of the experience. Not because it's traditionally Basque but because good food has a way of bringing people together, no matter where it comes from.
