Great time teaching Seniors how to do High Hang Power Cleans this week

For the Rest Day in The Daily Fix by we did SLIPS yesterday. It is a great sequence of movements that helps improve one's stamina, isometric strength, flexibility, coordination, agility, balance, and accuracy, of which are important skills to maintain at the highest levels possible throughout our lifetime.

Welcome back from Disneyworld, Jenae, and congrats on your promotion at work, too!

Turning around from this weekend learning about how to train Special Populations, to applying Scaled versions of movements in a workout like SLIPS the next morning.
When working with Special Populations, one must know what kind of problems might arise when assigning the "As Prescribed" movements to them, what the goal or intened stimulus is for them performing those movements, and what other versions or scaled down examples of the movement one can creatively assign them to perform to achieve the intended stimulus of the movements and workout.
In the Inversions section of SLIPS today (where we spent 6 minutes at each movement/station) we got our Seniors in this class to gradually load more Bodyweight through their hands and arms. Towards the end of the 6 minutes, they got to improve their Bodyweight Perception, by rocking back and forth, alternating shifting their Bodyweight Pressure from their feet to their hands. This is much like having them do their Bodyweight Pressure Perception drills standing, shifting around the different parts of their feet, like they have done for over a year now.
Just by loading their hands and arms with percentages of their own Bodyweight, then their bones, muscles, and tissues will be spurred on to grow.
Less Osteopenia and Osteoporosis, and more Muscle Mass and greater Mitochondrial Density and Health.
