It has been a privilege to work together, Todd, in support of our beautiful Idaho, and its natural resources.

I was honored to attend the Idaho Associated Loggers’ 60th Annual Conference with Executive Director Clete Edmunson and spend time with the hardworking men and women who keep Idaho’s timber industry strong.

I also had the chance to wear my “Idaho Loggers” suspenders, and I can confirm they are dependable, just like the people in this industry.

Idaho’s logging families are the backbone of our rural communities and an essential part of our economy and heritage. Grateful for their work, their stewardship, and their commitment to Idaho.

I was honored to be invited to join the Idaho Chiefs of Police Association and share a few words with the men and women who wear the badge every day to protect our communities.

Idaho is stronger because of the dedicated law enforcement leaders serving towns big and small across our state. It was especially great seeing Chief Dan McCammon from Preston and reconnecting with Chief Greg Belew from St. Anthony. Greg and I actually went to school together in Preston.

As your Controller, I will always stand with and support those who serve and protect. Back the Blue.

Thank you to the Ada County Republican Central Committee for hosting the statewide candidate forum last week. It was a valuable opportunity to share our collective visions for Idaho and hear directly from voters about the issues that matter most to Idaho families.

Today, I join my fellow Idahoans in mourning the tremendous loss of Governor Dirk Kempthorne.

Dirk had a steady, thoughtful approach that was reflected in the lasting policies he shaped and his enduring commitment to putting the people first. He believed that government exists to serve its citizens, and he carried that principle with him throughout his career in public service - as Mayor, Governor, Senator, and Secretary of the Interior.

Dirk's decades of accountable leadership have truly left their mark on both our great state and our nation.

Janalee and I extend our deepest condolences to Dirk's family, friends, and all who were touched by his life and service. Idaho is better because of him, and he will be deeply missed.
