Hi Matt,
Thank you for letting me speak at the IFPF meeting today. It was great to be back in the group and talking with old friends!
Can you pass on my contact information to the group in case anyone has questions about the new LIV Compliance Review Services or any general questions about LIV? Also, please add my new email to the IFPF mailing list.
Thanks!

On Friday, December 6th, 2025, at 1726 hours, offsite monitoring notified dispatch of a zone 3 fire alarm signal at 1315 N Liberty Street (Liberty Lakes Apartments). Engine 6 on arrival reported smoke in the area, audible alarms, sprinkler activation, and heavy smoke in a first-floor unit of a 3-story wood framed multifamily residential structure. E6 pulled an attack line while Truck 4 searched the apartment finding a smoldering cardboard box on a stove cooktop with a single activated sprinkler holding the fire in check. The apartment was discovered unoccupied. Primary search, check for extension, salvage, and overhaul completed by crews on scene. Alarm and sprinkler system secured by Ladder 5 upon receipt of fire control. No injuries reported as a result of this incident. Potential smoke and fire damages nearly eliminated due to working fire protection systems.
The outcome of this accidental fire serves as another great example of life safety features in action. Thanks for your efforts out there!
Cheers!
I was asked by Amanda B. from DOPL to send this out so that everyone knows what the current code is on the devices for recall that have been a little confusing lately.
2.27.3.2 Phase I Emergency Recall Operation by Fire
Alarm Initiating Devices
ð22Þ 2.27.3.2.1 In jurisdictions not enforcing the NBCC,

(c) in the elevator hoistway when sprinklers are
located in those hoistways more than 600 mm (24 in.)
