Attention product builders! We have new Large Sound deluxe tuning machines in stock for your next Ashbory bass inspired project. As with the regular Large Sound tuning machines, these aren't a direct replacement for stock Ashbory tuners, but will make for some interesting builds. Some individual Ashbory strings have arrived from Fender and we've packaged them into new complete sets of strings. These are the same silicone strings as a regular set, but without the normal set packaging. As an upside, the strings are individually marked (unlike with the factory bundled sets) for convenience.

Furthermore, they are in a 2+2 configuration (two tuners on the left, two on the right). We're pleased with the new tuners and think you will be too.

Hard to believe it's been over five years since Alun Ashworth-Jones passed away. He invented the Ashbory Bass concept, and is listed as the inventor on the Ashbory patent. He was a friendly guy that was always pleased to hear about the interest in his invention and was happy to share related news and historical artifacts. He even rebuilt my Guild pickup for me in the mid-1990s when it was an old, discontinued product that he didn't have to support. How cool is that?!

The Ashbory Bass and derivatives such as the Bass Ukulele were all built from the work of Alun Jones. His impact continues on today.
