A little piece of Boise Public Library history showed up at our Foundation board meeting this afternoon! Check out this vintage logo; we're guessing it dates to the era when the library moved from its original Carnegie building to its current home on Capitol Boulevard in the early 1970s. This sticker was part of the 2023 festivities celebrating 50 years in the current downtown location.
Do you remember this logo? Or have a favorite Boise Public Library memory to share? Let us know in the comments!

One of the reasons we love libraries? You never know what you'll discover! Sometimes it's a new favorite author. And apparently, sometimes it's an entire staircase hidden behind a wall. ๐ฒ๐
Check out this fascinating find from the Downtown Library remodel. And if you haven't signed up for Summer Reading yet, there's still time to join the adventure.

Marilyn Monroe's personal library contained more than 400 books! We're talking Walt Whitman, James Joyce, Leo Tolstoy, and works on history, philosophy, psychology, and politics.
For anyone who enjoys peeking at other people's bookshelves, this article is a fascinating browse. It offers a glimpse into the questions, ideas, and authors that captured the attention of one of the most photographed women in history. https://www.mentalfloss.com/books/literature/marilyn-monroe-personal-library-books
Will you add any of these to your TBR list? Let us know in the comments.

Looking for "new romance books"? The catalog can now understand what you're asking and automatically surface recently published romance titles... with no need to manually apply a bunch of filters.
You can also rate books using a simple โญโญโญโญโญ system, helping improve recommendations for yourself and fellow readers.
It's a small change that makes discovering your next great read a little easier.

Game 1 of the NBA Western Conference Finals is tonight, so hereโs a fun reminder that some athletes are just as passionate about books as they are about basketball. ๐๐
ICYMI, San Antonio Spurs star Victor Wembanyama has become known for reading in the locker room before games. We love this creative โRead Like Wembyโ display from his local library, and are encouraging Boise basketball fans to channel their inner bookworm and check out a new read of their own.
