Hey, Treasure Valley! Sam here!
This photo shows a broken truss web in the attic. Truss webs are engineered structural components designed to help distribute and support the weight of the roof. When a truss web is damaged or broken, the truss can no longer perform as intended, potentially affecting the structural integrity of the roof system.
This is a good example of why we spend time in attics during inspections. Issues like this aren’t always visible from the living space, but they matter for the overall performance of the home.

Hey Treasure Valley! Sam here! 👋
Standing water on a crawl space v***r barrier is never something to ignore.
During this inspection, we found significant moisture accumulation beneath the home, which typically points to a leak, drainage issue, or poor site grading. Left unaddressed, conditions like this can lead to wood rot, mold growth, and long-term structural concerns.
A v***r barrier is designed to protect the crawl space, but when water is present like this, it’s a sign the system is being overwhelmed or compromised.
If you’re buying, selling, or just maintaining your home, a crawl space inspection can reveal issues you will not see from the surface.

Hey, Treasure Valley! Logan and Sam here! 👋
Root intrusion in sewer lines is one of those hidden problems that can turn into a major headache fast.
Tree roots naturally seek out moisture, and even a tiny crack or loose joint in a sewer pipe is enough for them to get inside. Once they do, they keep growing, expanding inside the pipe like a slow-moving clog. Over time, this can lead to:
💧 Slow drains and backups
🚽 Frequent plumbing issues
🧱 Pipe blockages or even structural damage to the sewer line
The tricky part is that everything can seem fine on the surface while this is happening underground.
That’s why sewer scope inspections are so important. They help catch root intrusion early before it turns into an expensive repair.
If you want peace of mind about what’s happening under your home, give us a call and we’ll take a look before small problems become big ones.

Well… this is not where bath water is supposed to go. 😅
During a recent inspection, we found a disconnected bathtub drain line sending water straight into the crawl space. Meanwhile upstairs, everything looked totally normal.
This is exactly why home inspections matter. Hidden issues like this can quietly cause major damage before anyone even realizes there is a problem.

Rainy days in the Treasure Valley have a way of revealing things you do not always see when it is dry.
Roof leaks, poor drainage, grading issues, and hidden moisture problems often show up during weather like this. That is exactly why inspections matter, especially in new builds and pre-purchase homes.
At Treasure Valley Home Inspectors, we go beyond the surface. We use tools like infrared thermal imaging cameras and moisture meters to help detect hidden issues you cannot see during a standard walkthrough.

Hey Treasure Valley! Sam and Logan here!
At a recent home inspection, we come across a hidden issue that can lead to major problems if left undetected - tree root intrusion in sewer lines.
This happens when tree roots naturally seek out moisture and nutrients, finding their way into small cracks or joints in underground pipes. Once inside, they continue to grow and expand over time, often causing:
⚠️ Slow or backed-up drains
⚠️ Recurring blockages
⚠️ Pipe damage and structural failure
What starts as a tiny crack can quickly turn into a costly repair if it’s not caught early. That’s why thorough inspections matter. We look beyond the surface to help you understand what’s happening beneath your home—before it becomes an emergency.
Have questions or want peace of mind about your sewer system? We’re here to help!

Hidden issues like this plumbing leak can go unnoticed until they cause serious damage. This one was leaking into the wall, onto the subfloor, and down into the crawl space.

What is this, you ask? 😬
Hey Treasure Valley! Sam here! 👋Check out what I came across during a recent home inspection. 🏡
This is evidence of prior moisture in the crawlspace. When significant amounts of water accumulate and soak into the ground, minerals and salts are pulled up through the soil and left behind on the surface as the moisture ev***rates.
While this doesn’t necessarily indicate active water intrusion, it is a clear sign that moisture has been present in the past. It’s something that should be monitored to help prevent potential issues like mold, wood deterioration, or structural concerns.
