Podcasts have become one of the most powerful communication tools for young people – and it’s no mystery why. Unlike traditional media, podcasts feel like a real conversation. There’s no script-polished anchor reading from a teleprompter, no perfectly lit studio set designed to impress. It’s voices, stories, and honesty – the kind of exchange that is like catching up with a friend.

Cultivating Connected Communities Prize Challenge | ACL Administration for Community Living 06/03/2026

New Funding Opportunity: Inclusive Community Gardens
The Administration for Community Living (ACL) has launched the Cultivating Connected Communities Challenge—a national initiative supporting accessible, inclusive community gardens that promote health, wellness, and social connection.
This opportunity supports projects that:
- Improve access to fresh, healthy food
- Reduce social isolation
- Expand accessibility for people with disabilities and older adults
- Support adaptive gardening tools and inclusive design
- Strengthen long-term community wellness
Funding may be used for improvements like raised garden beds, accessible pathways, adaptive tools, and inclusive programming that goes beyond minimum accessibility standards. A key focus is ensuring people with disabilities and older adults are part of the planning and design process from the start.
This is a strong fit for communities working in gardening, aging services, disability inclusion, wellness, and food access—and may connect well with ongoing local projects across Idaho.

Let’s grow more accessible, connected, and inclusive communities—together.
