Beef Counts is a program designed to provide a consistent supply of high quality beef protein to the Idaho Foodbank and Second Harvest Agri Beef Co.

Join the northwest beef industry campaign to reduce hunger and provide a consistent supply of nutrient-rich beef for The Idaho Foodbank, Second Harvest of the Inland Northwest and Food Lifeline Western Washington. Donations of cash and/or beef cattle are quickly converted into nutritious beef through an innovative program established and endorsed by the Idaho Cattle Association, The Idaho CattleW

WCA Executive Vice President, Chelsea Hajny, WCA Producer, Samee Charriere and WA Cattle Feeders Executive Director, Jack Field present Second Harvest Food Bank with a check for more than $27,000 at this year’s Annual “Beef Counts” Rollover Auction last week.

This marks the 16th anniversary for the Beef Counts Program.

Samee and husband, Pete (Ledgerwood Gelbvieh and Rafter C Reds) generously donated this year’s calf, which was auctioned off at Toppen*sh Livestock. Agribeef matched all funds raised.

Thank you to all who donated and continue to support giving back to families in need.

Over $98,000 was donated to Beef Counts at Second Harvest and local food banks by Agri Beef and Washington’s Beef Farmers and Ranchers during 2023.

U of I Extension educators working with beef industry to fight hunger Volunteering to package beef chubs at the Idaho Food Bank warehouse in Lewiston on a recent Monday afternoon was a family affair for University of Idaho Extension educators.

Montana MacConnell, a animal and veterinary science student from Arco and president of the Student Idaho Cattle Association, joined educators and Lewiston area cattle producers to label hundreds of dollars’ worth of beef provided by Agri Beef for The Idaho Foodbank as part of the Beef Counts program coordinated by the Idaho Beef Council. This program aims to tackle food insecurity by providing high-quality beef to those in need across Idaho.
