We are in a crisis and could use some help.
My apartment flooded from a unit two floors above mine. It was not caused by anything we did. Because of the damage, our landlord gave us only 7 days notice to vacate, and we have to be completely moved out before Monday, September 28th.
We have lived here almost 14 years. My daughter and I are both disabled, so packing and moving quickly is physically hard for us in a way it might not be for other people. We are doing it anyway, because we do not have a choice.
The videos below show water coming out of our electrical box and from the bathroom fan. This is the kind of damage we are dealing with.
We are looking at roughly $2,000 to $3,000 total for the move, deposits, and application fees, on top of physical help getting everything packed and moved in time. If you are able to help in any of these ways, it would mean a lot.
Physical help packing or moving, most likely this coming weekend.
A truck or trailer we could borrow, or help renting one and loading it.
Storage space if we need somewhere to put things temporarily.
Financial help toward moving costs, application fees, or a deposit. If you are able to contribute, please message me directly and I can share the best way to do that.
We also have two cats and a dog, so if anyone can help with short term pet sitting in a worst case scenario, that would help too.

Wow, yesterday was trade-ageddon. In a good way. We took in LOTS of stuff. Here are pics. Much of this is fairly common, but might be the item you didn't realize we had. There are also some more rare items mixed in. Have a good look.

This ended up longer than we intended. Be aware, before you start.

So, our post about the TV seems to be generating some interesting replies. And, our whole business model, in general seems to also get that. We kinda feel like we should address the main crux of the comments.

We buy sell and trade. We're doing it to feed our families, by providing a service to the community. Can you get everything we sell, especially used, cheaper? Absolutely. A large chunk of the service we provide is convenience, and a guarantee.

Yes, if you want to put in the time, you can find TVs (as this seems to be the particular catalyst, at this time) at thrift stores, or being thrown out, or at garage sales, or what have you. You'll save money, but it comes with a trade off in time. Additionally, you have zero recourse if the item fails.

When someone asks us to buy something that is a non-standard item for us, like a TV, we check resale sites, like eBay, to see what the item is selling for. We make a guess as to how fast we think the item will sell, and make an offer. At no point are we forcing anyone to sell to us. We try to make our offer fair. Of course, fair is in the eye of the beholder.

When we price it for resale, again, we look at what we see them selling for on eBay (ALWAYS make sure to use the "sold Listings" filter), and try to price at or below what the average we can see is. Sometimes we make good estimates, sometimes we don't. Sometimes we get what we want, and sometimes we realize, "Well, that was a booboo.", and we get to eat a big loss. It is a risk, every time.

We aren't trying to cheat people. We almost always tell people that they will get more if they take the time to sell their item on their own. We actually had a nice fella in here, yesterday, with a Light Sabre replica, and he decided to try on his own, after we showed him what they sell for, and what we felt we could reasonably offer. We, sincerely, wished him success selling it himself, as he wanted more than we could reasonably do.

We've had other guests that when they tell us how much they want to pay for something that they try FB Market, or craigslist, or such. We just took a call from a lady wanting to trade an original PS5 straight over for a Switch 2. We recommended that option.

Finally, we like to have an open page, and let people say what they want to say, as long as it isn't obscene, or belittling to our guests (that wont be tolerated). Calling us unkind names is fair (everyone is allowed to have an opinion), it doesn't really help matters, though. But, feel free to do you.
