💛 Yellow Belt: Mobile App Development at iCode Boise

Our Yellow Belt students are diving into one of the coolest belt levels yet — mobile app development. This is where kids stop just using apps and start building their own.

Recently, our students have been sharpening their coding skills by designing and building their own apps in Code.org — a great starting point for young coders to learn the logic and problem-solving that real developers use every day.

From there, Yellow Belts move into the real tools of the trade:
📱 C # programming
💻 Visual Studio
⚙️ .NET MAUI & XAML UI
🔗 Event-driven apps, navigation, and data binding
🌐 REST APIs, local storage, and debugging

It's a big step up — and honestly, one of the most rewarding levels to watch a kid work through. Seeing them go from writing their first line of code to building a working app is something else. 💛

If your child has been showing interest in coding or has already worked their way up through our earlier belts, this is where things really start to click.

Come join us this Fall for our Belt Program!

Our Belt Program is where kids build real, lasting skills in coding, robotics, game design, and more — all through a structured path they can actually see themselves progressing through.

Just like martial arts, students work their way up through belt levels, earning each one as they master new skills. It gives kids clear goals, real milestones to celebrate, and a sense of pride that keeps them coming back week after week.

Here's what makes it great:
✅ Small class sizes and hands-on projects
✅ A clear path from beginner to advanced
✅ Real instructors who genuinely love what they teach
✅ Classes designed for ages 6–18, at every skill level

Whether your child is brand new to coding or already building on their own at home, we'll help you find the right starting point.

Come see what your kid can build. 💙

🤖 Meet R1 — the newest addition to iCode Boise. ✨

We're beyond excited to introduce our brand-new R1 EDU Humanoid Robot — a state-of-the-art robot that's about to open up a whole new world for our students.

And we're launching a program to match.

Introducing the Youth Innovation Program — a team-based cohort where high school students and exceptional young minds work together to program R1 to learn real tasks. This isn't beginner robotics. This is students collaborating on a real, advanced humanoid platform — problem-solving, coding, testing, iterating — the same kind of work happening in university and industry robotics labs right now.

What makes this different:
🤖 Hands-on time with a professional-grade humanoid robot
👥 Team-based project cohorts — real collaboration, real roles
🧠 Designed for teens ready to be challenged at the next level
🚀 Skills that translate directly to engineering, AI, and robotics careers

This is one of the coolest things we've ever brought to iCode Boise, and honestly — we can't wait to see what our students build with it.

Cohort spots will be extremely limited. If you have a teen who's ready for something bigger than a typical class, now's the time to get on our early-interest list.
