Paul came to Corinth in weakness, fear, and trembling.

But Jesus met him with a promise:

"And the Lord said to Paul one night in a vision, “Do not be afraid, but go on speaking and do not be silent, for I am with you, and no one will attack you to harm you, for I have many in this city who are my people.” Acts 18:9-10

Paul didn’t continue because he had enough strength on his own. He continued because he was dependent on Christ and the power of God.

Our desires can only carry us so far. Our own strength will eventually fail. But when we depend on Jesus, He gives us what we need to faithfully follow Him.

The Christian life is not sustained by our ability, but by Christ’s presence with us.

Sometimes the greatest evidence of God's leading isn't that everything goes according to our plan. It's that He lovingly redirects us to accomplish His.

In Acts 16, Paul had a destination in mind, but the Holy Spirit led him another way. What seemed like a change of plans was actually part of God's greater purpose. God is never random. He is always strategic, faithfully directing His people exactly where He wants them to be.

The same is true for us today.

God speaks through His Word. He directs us by His Spirit. He uses the encouragement and wisdom of other believers to guide us as we walk with Him. If we want His direction, we must spend time in His presence.

Take some time to read Acts 16 this week and ask the Lord to show you where He may be leading you. His plans are always good, and His purposes never fail.

How could Peter sleep the night before he was supposed to die?

Acts 12 gives us a glimpse into the kind of peace that only comes from knowing Christ. Peter's confidence was not in his circumstances. Whether the Lord chose to rescue him or bring him home, Peter knew his life belonged to God.

As believers, we are reminded that this life is not our ultimate hope. Our hope is found in Jesus Christ, who has conquered sin and death and secured eternal life for all who trust in Him. When our eyes are fixed on Him, we can rest in His faithfulness, even when life feels uncertain.
