Hi I’m Sierra!

I’ve never taken the time to introduce myself on this platform, so I thought I’d give it a go. I got my start planning lavish corporate events at some of the most prestigious hotels and private venues in Santa Barbara, CA. From there it slowly evolved into weddings through my work connections...my boss got married, a coworker’s brother wanted help with their wedding and so on...When I first started event planning, everyone told me I should do it full time but I thought they were crazy. Now here I am 17 years later doing just that!

I absolutely love getting to be artistic and creative while simultaneously managing all of the moving parts and keeping things organized and running smoothly. I feel like all of my previous jobs and life experiences were leading me to this path and now that I’m on it, it feels so right. Seeing the look on my clients faces when they first see the reception space fully decorated and watching them have a beautiful and memorable day that is stress free gives me so much joy and purpose.

Some things about me you may not know:

I’ve been a vegetarian for 28 years.

I absolutely love the snow and would happily trade the heat of summer for more snow days.

I’m a huge animal lover and must say hi to all animals, especially dogs, that I cross paths with.

The mountains are my happy place and where I feel most at peace.

I danced ballet and tap for over a decade and still tap dance today.

I’m sure you are familiar with the quote “Choose a job you love and you’ll never work a day in your life.” While there is a lot of wisdom there, it’s not entirely accurate. Being a wedding planner is my dream job and it is incredibly rewarding. Being a small business owner and working with people who have a lot of money, emotions and family dynamics tied up in one day and you’ve got yourself a challenging situation. It’s definitely a demanding and stressful industry but I still wouldn’t trade it. Anything that lets kind of joy show on my face is totally worth it.

Last wedding of 2022 is done and dusted! It’s been a heck of a year but I’m so thankful to my amazing clients and the stellar vendors I have the pleasure of working with. Now I think I’ve earned a bit of rest. HGTV here I come!

Tough day at the “office” today! I got to ride the chair lift up AND down to do a venue tour with clients at Roundhouse in Sun Valley. Then I got to help taste delicious food and look at gorgeous flowers!! I love my job. ❤️
