Dang! Look at this 2yr old roof falling apart!
This is a 2yr old new construction home that was roofed using a low quality shingle which is now blowing off in medium strength winds. The shingles never sealed, and the nails weren't placed properly.
When you hire cheaper roofers, they use cheap products, and you get bad results.
These roofers probably hurried through this install just to get it done quickly, and thus alot of their nails had sloppy placement. Installers must hit the right area for proper wind protection, but that area is typically only 1/2" wide! Nearly impossible to hit every time.
There is a bright side to this! Use a Malarkey shingle.. lol
Malarkey Roofing Products patented the widest nailing zone on the market. It's called "The Zone". Installers have a full 1.75 inches of area where the nails can be placed for maximum wind resistance. Now this is smart.
Homeowners can now trust that their installation is consistent and reliable.
Malarkey shingles also use an SBS modified sealant that activates in lower temperatures than others. Their shingles were made for cold weather and will seal quickly!
These little things make a huge difference.
