This Friday’s Explore Nature class for toddlers and their adults is all about caterpillars and butterflies! Come see our caterpillars in their cocoons as they prepare to emerge as butterflies soon. April 22 is a day of celebration at the Foothills Learning Center! We honor our Earth Day, as well as our anniversary – our 21st this year! Let us know what you love about FLC in the comments below. And be sure to come visit us this spring and summer, once the trails are dry!

We’re opening our doors this Saturday from 9 AM to 3 PM. If you’re at the Hulls Gulch trailhead to head out on a hike, or maybe to see the nesting owls, feel free to stop in at our Center.and say hello. No special programming or schedule, just an open building for you to explore while you’re in the area.

This Friday’s Explore Nature class for toddlers and their adults will feature songs, stories, and stewardship activities focused on hummingbirds! This will be a beautiful morning outside learning about these beautiful birds. Registration is required, link in comments.

At FLC, we know that giving our students hands-on purpose increases their connection to each other and our environment. Today’s theme at Spring Break camp was stewardship, and we embodied it fully! We weeded the garden, we helped to take care of our tortoise, Boo, and we had fun!

We took Science Outdoors with our Home School Day yesterday, looking for signs of wildlife on our trails. Lots of animal tracks, some fur, and a handful of caterpillars!
