Spartanburg Educators and Supporters of Public Education!

Join for an facilitated by Representative Dr. Rosalyn Henderson Myers on Monday, May 11, from 6 PM to 8 PM at the Dr. T. K. Gregg Community Center, located at 650 Howard St, 29303.

The event will feature Dr. Dena R. Crews, The SCEA President, Representatives Annie E. McDaniel and Courtney Waters for SC, along with Spartanburg School District 7 Board Trustee Vernon Beatty.

At their meeting on Monday, Spartanburg City Council voted 6-1 to advance a plan to rebuild a downtown clock tower at the entrance to an updated Barnet Park at E St John and N Converse streets.

The new tower will fulfill the City's commitment to rebuild a downtown clock tower to house the historic 1881 bell, along with elements from the previous clock tower that stood in a median along W Main Street. The new structure will continue the long community-centered legacy that has followed the 1881 bell from its previous homes, enshrining it again as a fixture of public life in our city.

What a great experience at the South Carolina School Boards Association new member training and conference! Sure, it’s like drinking out of a water hose, but every presenter and session was created with intention and inspirational. Scott Price and the SCSBA team are and were gracious, providing a wealth of resources and support. This is my first level of achievement with the Boardmanship Institute and I’m eager to learn more on how I can better serve my district.
