Burgundy + chartreuse are quickly becoming one of Summer 2026’s most talked-about wedding color pairings — and honestly, the psychology behind it makes perfect sense.

Some of the most trend-forward color palettes we see go “mainstream” tend to have one thing in common: they sit opposite or near-opposite each other on the color wheel. Complementary color combinations naturally create contrast, depth, and visual tension in a way our eyes are instantly drawn to.
