Doggy Day Out Highlight: Sinclair 🖤

Sinclair came back for Round 2, and apparently remembered exactly where she was.

After spending a week at my apartment previously, I brought her back Saturday evening after being away for a week. Within about 30 seconds of walking through the door, she was on my couch acting like she owned the place.

This sweet girl has been much more confident this time around. She’s getting better with stairs, more comfortable in the car, enjoying her walks, and breaking out the zoomies more often. She seems to enjoy puzzle toys and has been showing off more of her goofy, playful personality every day.

As usual, getting good activity pictures of Sinclair is nearly impossible because she spends so much of her downtime upside down. Most of my camera roll is filled with photos of her sleeping, smiling upside down, or somehow folded into pretzel shapes that shouldn’t be physically possible.

She’s incredibly gentle when taking treats and has developed a funny habit of hiding her favorite snacks for later. A Greenie mysteriously vanished before being discovered tucked between the pages of one of my notebooks. Sinclair apparently likes keeping emergency snacks on hand.

Beyond all the silliness, Sinclair continues to be an absolute dream houseguest. She’s housebroken, crate trained, and has spent 10-11 hours home alone without accidents or destructive behavior. 11 HOURS!

And then there are the ears. The pictures don’t quite do them justice, but Sinclair is working with a full set of Dobby ears that somehow make every expression even more adorable.

Every time Sinclair gets a break from the shelter environment, more of her personality shines through. The goofy, gentle, playful girl we see in a home is so different from the dog people meet through kennel bars.

If you’re looking for a sweet companion who enjoys walks, toys, zoomies, and then curling up nearby afterward, Sinclair might just be your girl. 🖤

Meet Anchor! ⚓

Anchor is a 3-month-old Lab mix who weighs 11 pounds and is full of puppy charm. Social, playful, and always sporting a wagging tail, this happy boy loves making friends and is ready for every adventure that comes his way. Anchor always is wearing his sweet smile and loves attention! Very smart too!

His story could have had a very different ending. Anchor was abandoned alongside his seven siblings near the border of Mexico with no mom to protect them. Thankfully, a kind Samaritan found the puppies just in time and got them to a wonderful foster home where they received the love, care, good nutrition, and socialization every puppy deserves.

Today, Anchor is thriving and has blossomed into a happy, loving puppy who enjoys people, playtime, and all the good things life has to offer. Now he’s ready to find a family of his own and start his next chapter!

Meet Edora! 🐾

Edora is a 4-year-old, 11-pound Chihuahua/Rat Terrier blend with the sweetest soul. When she first arrived at the rescue, she spent her first days p*eking her head out of her doghouse, with her big brown eyes, unsure if she wanted to join in on all the activity around her.

Then, just as it so often happens, around day seven she decided to take a chance. One morning she came trotting out to greet me with a wagging tail and her big brown eyes meet mine and I knew we had turned a corner. She does wonderfully with other dogs and enjoys their company.

Edora is sweet, gentle, and submissive. She's the kind of dog who needs a little time to feel safe, but once she does, her personality starts to shine. The rescue can be a big, overwhelming place, and I have no doubt that once she's settled into a home of her own, we'll see a completely different dog! Which happens all the time and its amazing!

She’s looking for someone who will give her a little patience, I think she's going to make her future family very glad they gave her that chance.

Taylor is a 3-year-old Poodle blend who weighs 24 pounds. She came to us from a very very sad situation, but she hasn't let that affect her sweet nature at all!

Taylor is one of those dogs who is simply happy to be loved. She has a sweet, submissive personality, gets along great with other dogs, and always seems to have a smile on her face. This girl is just so happy to be given any attention and be acknowledged!

And yes, those long legs! Taylor has the build of a little supermodel!

She's ready to leave the hard parts of her life behind and find a family who will love her as much as she'll love them!

Meet Delta!

Delta is a happy-go-lucky 3-month-old Yellow Lab blend who weighs 20 pounds. This handsome boy has a loving personality and is smart, social, playful, and always ready to make new friends. He is the perfect combination of affection, fun, and puppy charm.

Delta's story began with a difficult start. He and his seven siblings were abandoned along the border of Mexico, left alone without their mother. Hi. I’m Garden. Tiny. Delicate. Velcro Baby Supreme. 

At just 8 pounds, I look like someone crossed a baby deer with a Chihuahua/Rat Terrier and then accidentally gave me supermodel legs. I can jump surprisingly high for a creature that weighs less than a gallon of milk, so don’t let my tiny size fool you. 

I’m 3 years old, potty trained, p*e pad trained, and professionally skilled at convincing humans to carry me everywhere. My love language is being held. If you’re sitting down, I assume it’s because you’re preparing your lap for me. If you’re sleeping, I’ll be under the covers because obviously that’s where tiny princesses belong. 

I can be a little nervous when I first meet people, but once I realize you’re not a serial vacuum cleaner operator, I’m incredibly friendly and affectionate. Honestly, I just need a minute to process things. 

I may be tiny, but I’m fiercely loyal. If danger strikes, I will absolutely do my best to protect you from your high school tuba player while trembling like a leaf the entire time. Heroism comes in all sizes. 

I’d really love a home with another dog. Having a canine bestie helps me feel brave enough to tackle life’s biggest challenges, like the mailman existing or a squirrel running across the yard. 

Because I’m so tiny, I’d do best with older children or no children. I may look athletic, but I’m still basically a snack-sized deer. 

Speaking of snacks... I am EXTREMELY food motivated. You know those influencers who say they’re “not doing it for the money”? Couldn’t be me. I absolutely will work for treats. 

So if you’re looking for a tiny shadow, a professional blanket burrower, a world-class cuddler, and a little best friend who will adore you forever, I have one question:  When are you coming to pick mw up?
