Preeclampsia Awareness - Prenatal Health and Wellness 05/02/2022

I recently had the honor of getting to speak with two of the most knowledgeable and well-respected physicians in their respective fields regarding preeclampsia. David Lubetkin M.D., FACOG is an OB/GYN and delivered both of my babies; and Dr. Heather Johnson, M.D., FACC is a Cardiologist. It's so important to spread awareness and make women aware of pregnancy and postpartum related high blood pressure and preeclampsia. I had an in-depth conversation with these brilliant physicians and we went into detail about everything surrounding preeclampsia.

Read this incredibly interesting and educational conversation here: https://prenatalhealthandwellness.com/preeclampsia-awareness/

Awareness and being informed about this topic can make all the difference. Please share this with anyone you know who could benefit from this information.

5 WAYS TO HELP A NEW MOM:

DROP OFF HEALTHY FOOD (bring over a home-cooked meal or delivery from her favorite restaurant)

TACKLE CHORES (laundry, dishes, take out the trash, walk the dog, bring in the mail)

PLAY WITH THE OLDER CHILD (offer to take them to a playground, or entertain them at home)

ASK HER THE BEST TIME TO COME (work around her and the baby's schedule; not yours)

DON'T ASK TO HOLD THE BABY, unless she offers

Safe non-toxic deodorants that are *truly* clean for your pregnancy (and forever):

If you recently found out you were pregnant, or are trying to get pregnant, you may be making the switch to cleaner, non-toxic products. One of the most important products to switch out right away is your deodorant. Most deodorants on the market contain the ingredient Aluminum, which is linked to all sorts of diseases. Even some aluminum-free deodorants on the market still contain harmful ingredients. I highly recommend these 3 deodorants, as I have looked into every single ingredient in each one and can confirm these 3 deodorants are the cleanest ones you’ll find.

Your skin soaks up what you put on it… remember that!

I personally have made the switch to cleaner products for the rest of my life, not just when I was pregnant. Since Aluminum in deodorant is linked to breast cancer and Alzheimer’s I rather avoid it forever.

These gluten-free naturally sweetened pillowy pumpkin cookies are a must-make for a Thanksgiving dessert! [ ] They're made with simple ingredients like pumpkin puree, pasture-raised eggs, coconut sugar and Truly Grass Fed Dairy Natural Creamy Butter (higher concentration of beta carotene, Vitamin A omega fatty acids, conjugated linoleic acids come from grass-fed cows). This amazing butter is also fully traceable and minimally processed. Truly Grass Fed has been practicing the most modern methods of regenerative farming for decades.

Recipe: Add 1/2 cup of butter to a skillet over medium heat and cook until it's beginning to turn darker in color. Pour into a bowl and place in the fridge for about 20 min. In a large bowl, mix together 1 cup + 1 tbsp gluten-free all purpose flour, 1/2 tsp baking soda, 1/4 tsp baking powder, 1/4 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp cinnamon & 1/2 tsp pumpkin pie spice - set aside. In a separate large mixing bowl add in the cooled browned butter and 1/2 cup coconut sugar - using an electric mixer, beat together for about a minute. Next add in 1 egg yolk, 1/2 tsp vanilla extract & 1 tbsp maple syrup and mix again. Then stir in 1/4 cup of canned pumpkin. Pour the dry ingredients into the bowl with the wet ingredients and mix again until just combined. Cover and place in the fridge for at least 30 minutes (do NOT skip this step). Heat the oven to 350 and line a cookie sheet with parchment paper. Using an ice cream scooper, scoop the dough onto the cookie sheet & bake for 12 minutes. Remove from the oven and let cool before eating. https://lnk2.io/wjWDbhy
