Sol Ochoa Violin Studio

A few excerpts from Canon in D at our end-of-the-year studio recital three weeks ago! 🎻✨ Featuring students from 2nd through 10th grade.

This piece was quite a challenge! Since we don’t have regular group lessons, each student had to learn their part individually in private lessons. We then met in small groups of 3–4 students to rehearse, and had a very productive sound check before performing it.

I am so proud of how hard everyone worked to bring this piece to life. ❤️ From learning their parts to listening, counting, and working as an ensemble, each student put in tremendous effort and played with heart.

Watching students of different ages come together to create music is one of my favorite parts of teaching. Bravo to everyone! 🎻💕

Although only these students won a prize, they all (18 young violinists and pianists) worked hard to prepare for this event, and played their hearts out! I am so grateful to their wonderful parents who drove 4+ hours to make this possible ❤️

Congratulations to all my students who got SUPERIOR ratings at FFMC’s District Festival a few weeks ago.

Most of them have only been playing for about a year and a half now, and some had to perform up to eight pieces for four events!

It is so gratifying to see how much they worked and how excited they were about the results. I couldn’t be happier and luckier to have such wonderful group of students and families ❤️

Ready to compete at the Florida Federation of Music Clubs' State Convention at USF in Tampa last May. So happy that Isabella and her trio won in the Violin Trio Elementary Class category 🏆

As part of my studio program, students are encouraged to participate in the Florida Federation of Music Clubs’ (FFMC) District Festivals, where they perform for a jury and receive a rating. It’s a wonderful opportunity for them to set goals, grow as musicians, and share their progress in a positive and encouraging environment.

Students who earn a SUPERIOR rating at Districts are then invited to FFMC’s State Convention, where they compete with others from across Florida in their specific categories. Such a rewarding experience!
