Creative Kids Care, Inc. is a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization that is dedicated to improving the lives of children through the creative acts of children.
When our founder, Rachel Rutstein, was only nine years old, she had already been hard at work helping a bunch of different charities. Although that was very rewarding for her, Rachel wanted to form one group that could work together to help kids in all different kinds of tough situations and she wanted the kids to be in charge. There were charities for specific causes and charities run by adults b
ut no charities that kids could run to help other kids. Rachel convinced her parents to allow her to start Creative Kids Care, Inc. By the time she was ten, Creative Kids Care, Inc. had become incorporated and received the government designation as a 501(c) 3 company. This status allows all donations to Creative Kids Care, Inc. to be fully tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. The Creative Kids Care team raises funds by creating jewelry and other gifts and selling them at our events and at events hosted by other children oriented charities. Then we take the funds we have raised and donate them. The donations have to be less than $5,000.00, have to specifically improve a child’s life, and are given only in the form of specific grants to other 501(c) 3 charities dedicated specifically to helping children. For example, we have helped support a program that teaches kids how to not to bully other kids, have helped children with chronic and terminal illnesses, and have helped children with special needs get adopted who would otherwise be stuck in foster care. The thing that makes us unique is that we are a group of kids helping other kids. Kids can make a difference if we work together.
