WHAT IT IS
Chaga is a dark fungus that grows primarily on birch trees in cold northern regions. Long before it appeared in skincare, people brewed it as an infusion or tonic. Its documented use dates to at least the 16th century.

WHY WE CHOSE THIS ONE
Our version comes from Canada’s yellow birch region and uses pressurized-water extraction to capture the polyphenols we selected it for.

WHAT THE TESTING SHOWED
Laboratory testing of the extract demonstrated antioxidant activity and effects on markers related to the skin barrier and epidermal cohesion. In a four-week, placebo-controlled study of the ingredient on women with reactive, intolerant skin and redness, instrumental testing showed a significant reduction in redness from one week and an improvement in brightness.
