Not only is obesity a known risk factor for psoriasis, it's also considered a factor in the reduced effectiveness of certain biologic treatments.

Yet while most studies examine the role of body mass index (BMI) on brodalumab, an antibody medication used to treat moderate-to-severe plaque psoriasis by blocking the interleukin-17 receptor, less is known about the impact of absolute body weight on brodalumab treatment outcomes.

As the cosmetic dermatology chair for the 2027 South Beach Symposium (SBS), I'm excited to bring all of that - and so much more - to Miami Beach this February.

We're putting together a dynamic program designed to be practical and forward-thinking, complete with plenty of opportunities to see what's happening now and where the field is headed next.
