Legacy FP Softball

Every great story has a beginning, and every unforgettable chapter eventually comes to an end.

A little over 8 years ago, a simple conversation on a couch sparked an idea—to create a travel softball team in Coconut Creek, Florida. That idea became the Coconut Creek Outlaws, an organization built on something far greater than wins and losses.

The Outlaws were never about being the biggest program. They were built on a love for the game, a commitment to growth, and the belief that every player deserved an opportunity to develop, regardless of where they started. Each athlete came with different abilities, different experiences, and different goals, but they all shared one thing in common: a passion for softball.

From day one, founder Patrick Smith poured his heart into this organization. His passion for the game and unwavering belief in every girl who wore an Outlaws jersey never wavered. His mission was never just to create better softball players—it was to help shape confident, hardworking young women who understood the value of effort, attitude, perseverance, and being part of something bigger than themselves.

Over the years, players came and went. Some were there from the very beginning, while others joined somewhere along the way. But every single one of them became part of the Outlaws story, helping build a legacy that will never be forgotten.

As the years passed, our name evolved into Legacy, but our mission never did. The commitment to our athletes, the passion for the game, and the culture we built together remained the same. We are incredibly grateful for every coach who dedicated countless hours to helping these young women grow, and we can never thank them enough for the impact they made.

As we close this chapter, we look back with immense pride. We’ve watched these athletes grow—not only in their skills, but in their confidence, leadership, and character. Some are continuing their careers at the collegiate level, while others are beginning exciting new chapters of their own. No matter where life takes them, they will always be part of the Outlaws/Legacy family.

This isn’t just the end of a softball team. It’s the end of an era.

An era that created lifelong friendships, unforgettable memories, countless lessons, and a family that will always remain connected through the game we love.

To Patrick Smith, Danii Fernandez, Melissa Ledesma, Cici Munley, and the many volunteers who generously gave their time, energy, and hearts—thank you. Your dedication helped inspire a generation of young women and left an impact that reaches far beyond the softball field.

To every player, every parent, every coach, and every supporter who believed in this vision—thank you for helping turn an idea into something truly special.

While this chapter comes to a close, the legacy of the Coconut Creek Outlaws will live on in every lesson learned, every friendship formed, and every young woman who proudly wore the Outlaws/Legacy name.

Congratulations on your commitment to STU! We are soooo extremely proud of you. You are the glue/mama of our team. You keep everyone in line including us coaches 😂 (especially me when I’m constantly asking for hair ties orr turfs) your attitude and leadership sets you apart from so many. The way you take responsibility when things don’t go right, but also hold your teammates and self accountable on and off the field shows your leadership. It truly has been on honor to watch you grow into your own. The hard work and extra time put in has all paid off. This is not the end but another step to an amazing future and we can’t wait to see you play at the next level!

Jas, from the day that i took over this team you have been a kid that finds a way to stand out and put in the extra time. Strong, faithful, and dedicated to your craft you deserve this so much! From being at practice everyday when you were injured, to finding a way to get better, to being an excellent teammate in the dugout your presence and talent speak for themselves. Continue to push yourself and trust in the process. I am so extremely honored to be a small part of your journey and i can’t wait to see you flourish at the next level.

Our quiet (if you don’t know her), fearless, fierce, force of nature. What a journey it has been to watch you grow into a quiet leader on the field. From the first day you stepped on our field, you showed us something special. You worked your butt off for every improvement. You chose to show up and accept the challenge even when you were hurt, and you found a way to come up stronger and on top every single time. You have been one of the most consistent bats in our lineup and that comes from all the work you have put in not only with us but on your own. I am sooooooo extremely proud of you Cam and i cannot wait to see you play at the next level!

Marley has shown passion for the game, flying around the outfield and making amazing plays for Legacy FP. We can’t wait to see all she accomplishes studying Early Childhood Education and competing at the next level! 🌟
