🚨 LINDSAY CLANCY CASE UPDATE

The case is taking another major turn following the mistrial.

Lindsay Clancy’s defense is now trying to stop a second trial from happening at all.

Her attorneys have asked the judge to enter a not-guilty finding, arguing that the prosecution presented insufficient evidence to establish criminal responsibility. Attorney Martin Weinberg has also joined the defense team to address potential double-jeopardy and appellate issues surrounding a retrial.

Meanwhile, prosecutors have not publicly announced a retrial, and there is still no confirmed plea deal.

The next date to watch...September 29. This is when the court is scheduled to address the defense’s post-mistrial motion.

Everyone’s talking about the Lindsay Clancy retrial. But there’s another possibility that isn’t getting nearly as much attention: a plea deal.

The reported jury split was 11–1 in favor of finding Clancy not criminally responsible. Now, both sides have to weigh the risk of starting over with 12 completely new jurors.

Having worked on both sides, as a prosecutor and a defense attorney, I can tell you: certainty has value.

A plea could give the prosecution a guaranteed conviction while giving the defense certainty about the outcome and sentence.

Does that mean a deal will happen? No. But it’s something I’ll be watching very closely as this case moves forward.
