As a top model based in Paris and New York, Giselle Meza traveled around the world extensively on high-profile fashion assignments. While on locations shooting, Meza always visited the loca

l markets, bazaars and nearby villages to meet the local women and learn about their cultures. She met missionaries working in the field of rescuing victims of human trafficking and s*x slavery and witnessed the horrors faced by the innocent victims of s*x slavery. She became very aware of the urgent growing need to provide a source of self-sustainable employment for women rescued from the atrocities of global human trafficking. She understood the urgency of providing safe homes for the innocent children that were trapped and in danger of being sold into the s*x trade. In 2007, Giselle, full of compassion for the victims of injustice, created Puresa Humanitarian out of a God-given vision and passion to provide a tangible solution and a realistic rescue for female victims of human trafficking and to provide safe homes for rescued children, where they would live in a loving atmosphere and receive complete care, including a warm bed and home, food, medical care, education, clothes, counseling and prayer. Puresa Humanitarian has grown into a holistic program providing safe homes for rescued children. Puresa also works in prevention and rescue programs to help prevent children living in local villages and mountains from being tricked into trafficking. Uneducated and impoverished families are the main targets for the traffickers, who come through their areas on a weekly basis promising them false hope. Puresa also provides self-sustainability and opportunity for independence through employment to rescued women. Since 2007 Puresa Humanitarian has been creating sustainable employment through the manufacturing of handmade, organic, eco-friendly, fair trade and fashionable products. We provide rescued women with a safe and healthy work environment surrounded with a trained and dedicated staff that truly care for the well-being and security of each woman. By maintaining their own economic sustainability, Puresa helps to diminish the risk of re-victimization, and helps break the cycle of human exploitation and modern day slavery.

On behalf of Puresa Humanitarian and myself, Giselle Meza, we are so saddened by our dear kind hearted friend, David Gandell leaving this world.
We love him so much.
A big loss to us here in Kolkata, India and to all of us whose lives he touched.
To David's family we are so sorry for your pain and this heartbreaking loss.
David, I and all of us who were Blessed to spend time with you miss you and will forever feel your spirit walking with us as we help and serve the girls, women, and the people throughout Calcutta.
The medical help and the LOVE you brought deep into the trenches and dark alleys of the city will never be forgotten.
You came with us to places where no human should ever be living and suffering, you provided them with medical help which they deserve.
You gave them HOPE, LOVE and Tenderness, they felt unashamed by your loving care.
The people of Calcutta truly appreciated your gentleness and respect, your loving spirit and kind heart.
David you made each woman, girl, child, and man who he examined feel cared for, they were not untouchables, they are worthy of respect and were treated by you with such love.
David I love you, you are so special to me and to Puresa Humanitarian, you forever changed my life with "your words" as you stood up on our trip in India and apologized on behalf of all men in the world who have hurt me and us, all the girls and women who you witnessed in pain from the atrocity of human trafficking and exploitation.
I am forever grateful for your willingness to travel to the ends of the earth to take help.
I will always walk the roads of Calcutta serving thinking that you are looking over me, over our team, over Puresa Humanitarian and smiling.
I will never forget the meaningful deep conversations we had on long train rides in India and as we walked through filthy streets and conditions that no human should ever be forced to live in.
You are an Angel to us.
Thank you for being part of us, for coming to love and serve the forgotten.
You are forever in our heart.
The people of Calcutta and all of our women and children and team in India remember and appreciate your incredible respect, kind heart and gentleness.
And those on our Puresa Humanitarian team that had the privilege to work and help along side you feel incredibly honored.
You are so missed but we will continue strong and we know you are now an Angel walking with us...

My precious little Bandana went to Heaven yesterday morning.✨💔🦋
Now she can fly like the Angel that she is.
I am so grateful for the Blessing and Gift of being part of her life, she brought so much Joy and she overcame so much in her short life.
Her fun sassiness, warm loving spirit and heart, those huge eyes and big bright smile I will never forget.
These last few weeks we spent together in the hospital were so special and precious.
You were so brave and beautiful and so many times you would hold on tight to my finger and my arm and not let go. We spent special moments together. I love you.
Rest in Peace my precious little girl.
And to all of you that loved and supported her and came out all the way to India to visit her, thank you for your compassion in caring and loving Bandana. You made her feel so special.
She will be in my heart forever and she will always be one of our Puresa Humanitarian warrior Princess girls. 💕👏✨🦋❤️

Giselle Meza, an active humanitarian, survivor of Human Trafficking, and former top model, witnessed the exploitation and injustice happening to women and children around the world while traveling extensively to over 58 countries on assignment. Moved with compassion for the victims of injustice that she met, Giselle founded Puresa Humanitarian, a non-profit 501c3 charitable organization with the mission to rescue and save lives, to provide a tangible solution and a realistic rescue for victims of Human Trafficking, to rescue, restore, provide safe homes for innocent children who were trafficked and sold into a life of forced slavery and bo***ge, and to empower rescued women by creating opportunity for self-sustainability, to make a difference in these women’s and children’s lives.

Giselle’s personal life experiences as a child; a Human Trafficking victim and survivor, tricked & trafficked at the age of 14 years old when she moved to the US from Costa Rica, escaped and survived, have fueled her passion and devotion for her humanitarian work and created a very personal life-long mission to rescue and restore innocent victims around the world who have been exploited, trafficked, and enslaved.

Giselle knows that only by God’s Grace was she able to escape and survive. She has dedicated her life through Puresa Humanitarian to reaching, rescuing, and creating new pathways and a way out from slavery that other victims and survivors may now have hope and a future and live the life that God intended for them.
