3rd Sunday of Matthew: Greek Orthodox Divine Liturgy of Saint John Chrysostom, w/CC June 21, 2026 @ 9:45 AM EST
https://youtube.com/live/44QzksTu7M8
On this third Sunday of Matthew, we gather to listen to the comforting yet challenging words of Christ from the Sermon on the Mount regarding anxiety, trust, and divine providence. The Holy Gospel reminds us that the eye is the lamp of the body, calling us to maintain spiritual clarity and a single-minded focus on God rather than becoming consumed by the material cares of this life. By pointing to the birds of the air and the lilies of the field, Christ beautifully demonstrates the Father’s constant, loving oversight, assuring us that if we seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, all our physical necessities will be provided for.
The hymns and prayers of this Divine Liturgy encourage us to lay aside our worldly anxieties and find true rest in the promises of the Lord. In a fast-paced world that often demands our undivided attention, this Sunday serves as a gentle spiritual realignment, inviting us to cultivate deep trust in God’s providence and to anchor our souls in His eternal peace. We invite you to join our parish family as we worship together, seek the illumination of the Holy Spirit, and pray for the grace to live with a clear spiritual vision dedicated to Christ.
Readings:
Epistle Reading: Romans 5:1-10
Gospel Reading: Matthew 6:22-33
Today, we commemorate:
3rd Sunday of Matthew
Julian the Martyr of Tarsus
Terence, Bishop of Iconium
Julius and Julian the Brothers of Mygdonia
Nicetas of Nisyrus
