E-bike dangers involve high speeds, heavy vehicle weight, and lithium-ion battery fires. These factors lead to severe injuries, especially for young or inexperienced riders. Electric bikes are a public health hazard and e-bike riders are more likely to sustain fatal injuries after a collision with a motor vehicle, according to the American College of Surgeons.
