Another great dinner

It’s a hard truth—one we don’t like to think about until life gently (or sometimes painfully) reminds us.

One day, we will live without the people we love the most.
A parent.

Or one day… they will live without us.

That thought alone is enough to quiet the noise of the world.

So hold them a little longer.
Hug them a little tighter.
Say the words you keep meaning to say—I love you, thank you, I’m grateful for you—while you still can.

Life doesn’t promise forever.
It only gives us now.

Now is sitting under old trees that have seen decades pass.
Now is shared laughter in simple yards and front porches.
Now is small moments that don’t seem important at the time—until they become memories you would give anything to relive.

Don’t wait for a “someday.”
Don’t assume there will always be another chance.

Appreciate the people who show up for you.
Love them loudly.
Forgive quickly.
Be present.

Because in the end, it’s not the big things we miss most—it’s the quiet, ordinary moments spent with the ones who made life feel like home. 💛
