Ever wonder which chews could actually send your dog to the surgery table? 🦷🐶
In this video, Boca Veterinary Clinic veterinarian Dr. Matthew Marquis walks you through a real dental extraction on a fractured carnassial tooth, the big upper premolar that does most of the heavy chewing.
These fractures are often caused by toys and treats that are simply too hard for your dog’s teeth. If you can’t bend it with both hands or press your thumb in to leave a mark, it’s likely too hard and may put your pup at risk for a painful break.
