Florida Tennis magazine was launched in 1992 by Jim Martz, dean of tennis writers in Florida and a vice president of the U.S. Previously he was the Miami Herald's tennis writer for 18 years and contributed to several national and international publications. He edited the book "50 Love, Advantage Florida," which chronicles the first 50 years of USTA Florida. He co-authored famed tennis coach Rick Macci's book "Macci Magic: Extracting the Best from Yourself and Others" and he authored "Safe Tennis: How to Train and Play to Avoid Injury and Stay Healthy". Over the years, Florida Tennis contributors have included some of the tennis world's biggest names including Chris Evert, Nick Bollettieri, Rick Macci, Vic Braden, Fred Stolle, Angela Buxton, Steve Flink, and Mark Winters. Florida Tennis has also been fortunate to use images from some of the premier tennis photographers in the world including Art Seitz, Alese and Morton Pechter, Al Messerschmidt, Susan and Fred Mullane, Caryn Levy, and Michael Baz.

🎤 Alexander Zverev, Carlos Alcaraz and Casper Ruud open up about playing for Team Europe at Laver Cup 2026.
🇪🇺 So far, Team Europe has made the most of it, taking a 3-1 lead over Team World after Friday’s opening day at The O2.
🔥 Ruud started Europe off with a 6-7(4), 6-4, 10-8 win over Francisco Cerundolo before Brandon Nakashima answered for Team World, defeating Jakub Mensik 6-1, 3-6, 10-7.
🇪🇸 Rafael Jódar then impressed in his Laver Cup debut with a 6-2, 6-3 win over Alexander Bublik, and Alcaraz teamed with Mensik to close the night by beating Bublik and Taylor Fritz 6-4, 6-4.
⚡ Saturday raises the stakes, with each victory now worth two points as Team Europe tries to build on its early advantage.
