Informed Childbirth was established to teach women and their families about pregnancy and birth.
Through knowledge women can make better choices and take charge of their pregnancy and birth experience. Our mission is to empower women and their partners to make educated and informed decisions regarding their pregnancy, labor and birth. This is accomplished through a deep understanding of the birthing process and a loving, nurturing birth environment. We offer an assortment of childbirth classes to meet each family's unique needs. We believe in the right of every woman to have a positive and successful birth experience. We offer support to all women through childbirth education and birth and postpartum Doula services regardless of race, religion, ethnicity, culture, income, background, or sexual orientation.

Had a great Holiday season receiving cards and photos from amazing families that we helped to have wonderful birth experiences in the past 2 1/2 years. Can't believe how big the babies are and how fast they have grown :-) Looking forward to assisting some very special mom's in 2013 and thrilled to have some repeat clients as well!

Throughout most of the world, and most of history, women have labored and birthed with midwives. The International Day of the Midwife (IDM) is marked by midwives each year on May 5. The idea of having a day to recognize and honor midwives came out of the 1987 International Confederation of Midwives conference in the Netherlands. International Midwives' Day was first celebrated May 5, 1991, and has been observed in over 50 nations around the world. It is an occasion to celebrate and promote the profession of midwifery and recognize the accomplishments and dedication of our midwives. In honor of International Day of the Midwife, Florida Friends of Midwives pays tribute to the work of midwives in Florida, all over the country and around the world.
