Our words matter more than we sometimes realize.

Every conversation is an opportunity to encourage, to build up, and to reflect the love of Jesus.

James gives us a powerful reminder:

“If you claim to be religious but don’t control your tongue, you are fooling yourself, and your religion is worthless.” James 1:26

Those are strong words, but they’re meant to make us pause and examine our hearts.

Before we speak today, let’s ask ourselves…

Will my words bring life?

Will they point someone closer to Jesus?

Will they reflect His grace?

My prayer is that our words would encourage, heal, and remind others of the hope we have in Christ.

Lord, let there be less of me and more of You in every word I speak. đź’ś

Are you making room for Jesus today?

I don’t know about you, but life has a way of filling every empty space.

There is always one more email to answer. One more errand to run. One more person who needs us.

Before we know it, we’ve spent time with everyone except the One who gives us the strength to love them well.

I’ve learned that the days I intentionally make room for Jesus are the days everything else seems to fall into place. My circumstances don’t always change, but my perspective does.

Maybe today the Lord isn’t asking you to do more.

Maybe He’s simply asking you to come sit with Him.

Open your Bible.
Put your phone down.
Listen.
Pray.

He is waiting.

“Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you.”
James 4:8

Are you making room for Jesus today?

07/20/2026

This week, someone very special unexpectedly entered the presence of Jesus.

She was the kind of woman who made people feel seen. She loved generously, served faithfully, and lived each day with purpose. She wasn’t chasing recognition or applause. She simply loved God and loved people well.

As I reflected on her life, I couldn’t help but imagine these words welcoming her into heaven:

“Well done, good and faithful servant… Enter into the joy of your master.”
Matthew 25:23

What a beautiful reminder that the way we live today matters.

Our legacy isn’t built in a single moment. It’s shaped by the quiet, everyday choices to encourage someone, extend grace, show kindness, forgive quickly, serve faithfully, give generously, and point others to Christ.

Her life has challenged me to ask myself:
If my life were to end today, would the people around me know that I loved Jesus by the way I loved them?

May we live in such a way that when our race is finished, we hear those same words from our Savior.

Today, let’s pause and reflect.

Are our lives aligned with what God is calling us to do?
Are we loving people well?
Are we living generously?
Are we making an eternal impact with the time we’ve been given?

Lord, help us to live each day with eternity in mind, faithfully serving You and loving others well.

“Well done, good and faithful servant.” May that be the desire of every heart.

💜 I’d love to hear from you. What is one way you can intentionally love or serve someone today?

THE POWER OF YOUR WORDS

What if the words we speak are revealing more about our hearts than we realize?

James reminds us that our tongue has incredible influence. Our words can heal or hurt. They can encourage or discourage. They can bring life or spread destruction.

“The tongue has the power of life and death…” Proverbs 18:21

The truth is, none of us can tame our tongue through willpower alone. Real change begins when Jesus changes our hearts.

Jesus said, “Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.” Luke 6:45

Every word we speak is planting a seed.

Are your words producing peace or conflict?

Hope or fear?

Unity or division?

Grace or criticism?

Today, let’s ask God to guard our hearts so He can transform our words.

“Set a guard, O Lord, over my mouth; keep watch over the door of my lips.” Psalm 141:3

May our words reflect the One we follow and point others to Jesus.

đź’ś What kind of harvest are your words producing today?

More than a retreat.

More than a weekend away.

This is an invitation to step away from the noise and make room for Jesus.

Join us at The Cove in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains for a weekend of worship, authentic community, meaningful conversations, laughter, and quiet moments with the One who knows you best.

Our theme this year is:

LESS OF ME. MORE OF HIM.

"He must become greater; I must become less."
John 3:30

Together, we'll ask the questions that matter most:

What needs to decrease?
What is Jesus saying to me?
What is He healing in me?
What is my next yes?
Who is He calling me to strengthen?

Whether you're feeling weary, searching for direction, longing for deeper friendships, or simply hungry for more of God, we believe He has something waiting for you on the mountain.

"The Sovereign Lord is my strength; He makes my feet like the feet of a deer, He enables me to tread on the heights."
Habakkuk 3:19

Come expecting.
Come ready.
Come just as you are.

We can't wait to welcome you.

Happy 250th Birthday, America! 🇺🇸

Today I’m filled with gratitude.

I’m thankful to live in a country where we have the freedom to worship Jesus, gather in community, open His Word, and encourage one another in our faith.

As I think about our Masterpiece Women community, I’m reminded what a gift it is to walk alongside women who love Jesus and desire to become everything He created them to be.

On this Independence Day, I’m thanking God for His faithfulness and praying that He would continue to bless our nation and draw hearts closer to Him.

Wishing each of you a joyful, safe, and meaningful Fourth of July. I can’t wait until we’re together again.

Happy Birthday, America! ❤️🤍💙

Can I ask an honest question?

Why do we talk so much about grace…

But so little about sin?

We celebrate forgiveness.
But do we pursue holiness?

We love hearing that God has a wonderful plan for our lives.
But do we talk about dying to ourselves?

We talk about blessings.
But what about obedience?

We talk about purpose.
But what about repentance?

We want Jesus as our Savior…
But have we truly surrendered to Him as Lord?

I wonder if we’ve become comfortable embracing the parts of Christianity that encourage us while quietly avoiding the parts that transform us.

We don’t get to edit the Gospel to fit our preferences. We let the Gospel reshape us.

Maybe it’s pride.

Maybe it’s gossip.

Maybe it’s unforgiveness.

Maybe it’s bitterness.

Maybe it’s sexual sin.

Maybe it’s dishonesty.

Maybe it’s placing our identity in success instead of Christ.

Maybe it’s treating people harshly while convincing ourselves we’re simply “speaking the truth.”

Whatever it is…

Jesus doesn’t call us to justify it.

He calls us to surrender it.

The gospel isn’t just an invitation to receive grace.

It’s an invitation to repentance.

To obedience.

To holiness.

To loving others the way Christ loves us.

To becoming more like Him every single day.

Where there is genuine repentance, Christ brings freedom. He doesn’t leave us where He found us.

At Masterpiece Women, my prayer isn’t that we become women who simply know more about Jesus.

It’s that we become women who look more like Him.

Not perfect.

But humble.

Repentant.

Teachable.

Completely surrendered.

Less of me. More of Him.

“If anyone would come after Me, let him deny himself, take up his cross daily, and follow Me.” — Luke 9:23
