Hii, thought it’s finally time to show my face on here and just share some things to make me more relatable🖤

My name is Kate and I’m 28 years old! Born and raised in South Florida.

• I have two brothers that I adore

• I own 4 dogs🐾 2 chihuahuas and two pit bulls
•
• I’m extremely passionate about helping people and animals
•
• I’m super goofy and am a very extroverted introvert🤪

• I love music. I can listen to music 24/7. From old school hip hop, indie, country, alternative and metal.

• I absolutely love taking photos and meeting new people
•
• I’m a full time ICU veterinary technician and would love to go full time photographer, but still work part time in the ICU. When I tell you I love animals, I guess I should say I’m obsessed😬🐾

• if you choose me to be your photographer you’re supporting my dream. You will get back photos that have emotion. I will do everything in my power to make you feel as comfortable as possible to ensure you have a great time

• I say hi to pretty much everyone I walk by and will start a conversation with just about anyone
•
• I drive a 2006 Honda Accord that I bought off of OfferUp two years ago. It’s not the best looking, but I bought it that way and it gets me from A to B🚙 💨
•
• I love pizza so much, but I’m a bit of a sauce snob. It can’t be too sweet and has to be more savory🍕
•
• I have ADD and bipolar one disorder. I started therapy about 6 months ago and medications a couple months ago. It’s been going great and I actually feel like how I’m supposed to feel. Myself.
•
• I’m an extremely emotional person and am very in tune with people’s energy. It can be exhausting, but I think it just makes me a kinder human and show compassion to everyone.

I can’t choose a favorite from this session.. I think I’m equally obsessed with them all🥹

To see the sunrise means to do so with intention.

You have to set an alarm, get out of bed and hit the road. You may be tired, but once you walk up, smell the salty air and hear the waves crashing in the distance there’s an immediate sense of peace that rushes over you.

I am so happy with these photos and I’m getting so comfortable finding my own style. I am especially happy that I used my own preset that I created when I first started.

Thank you and for always making me laugh, spending your morning with me and allowing me to create with you, thank you for your support of me and my business.

• Fun fact, I actually named this preset “Trixie” after my very first session with and her beautiful girl Trixie🐾 I thought it would be a great way to honor Trixie and Melissa. She gave me the opportunity to photograph them and I did the session for free. I’ll never forget when she gave me a tip after.. I needed the money really bad then, but didn’t mention it and wouldn’t mention it. It made me cry with gratitude and made my heart full knowing she supports me and also felt inclined to tip me which she did not have to do at all, but it is always extremely appreciated.

I know I say this in a lot of my posts, but I really am grateful for all of you who have gave me and give me the opportunity to photograph you and create art with your photos. Thank you all🖤

My goal for when it’s cooler out is to do a lot more family sessions and better myself on a documentary style of photography. Meaning not so posed, told where to stand and what to do and just getting you be you, enjoying the moment.

Happy Sunday everyone!

Here are two kitties that I’m taking care of while their humans are on vacation. They’re Junior and Milo and are super cute.. obviously 😻 Junior (the dark tabby) took a few days to warm up to me and now we’re BFFs👯‍♀️

Being a vet tech and caring for peoples pets is my first love. Being able to take cool pictures to send their owners is so fun and makes my heart happy. Whether it be a hospitalized patient of mine or a pet at home, you can bet the owner is getting spammed with pictures🐾

I wanted to make this post because it would have been so great to see something like this when I was thinking about getting started.

I was always so set on “I need a better camera body” “I need a better lens” “I need, I need, I need”

Until I said screw it, bought my Sony A6000 and started shooting for free. Shooting for free turned into charging $75 a session, then $150 a session and now I’m charging $350-$400 a session depending on what it is.

This session in particular was with a friend and her senior dog. Amy and Scooter🐾 I said” if you drive to me, I’ll shoot for free”. We played around in the rain and got these super sweet photos. They’re not super crisp, they’re not super clear. The purpose of them is to show the sunset, to show her with her best friend enjoying it while playing in the rain. You don’t always have to see every line in someone’s face or the pores in their skin to make it a good photo. A good photo is subjective to the photographer and to the client. That’s what art is.

I wasn’t raised with money, I wasn’t raised being handed things but, I fortunately was raised with a great work ethic, a huge heart, being a massive animal lover and someone who will take the shirt off their back to give to someone else. I thought I needed an expensive camera to start. I thought people would judge me driving up to a session in my beat up 2006 Honda Accord (I love her and will drive her into the dirt). But people don’t give a flying fu** where you came from or what you’re driving.. good people don’t care about that at least. People care about how you make them feel, how you treat others.

I’m just glad I reached out to the guy on Offer Up, met up with him at WaWa and bought the camera.

Thank you to everyone who has supported me, continues to support me and says such kind words to me about my photography. You have no idea how much it all means to me..

If photography is something you love, just start. With your phone, with a camera you have lying around, or buy a cheap one. Nothing fancy. See what sparks your interests and fills your heart.

I’m still looking forward to the day I can do this full time. What a day that will be to celebrate❤️
