🦷✨ Who knew a floss pick could be a speech therapy tool?
We’re using a simple floss pick as a tactile cue to help with tongue placement for the tricky /R/ sound. Sometimes feeling where the tongue should go makes all the difference!
Speech therapy is all about finding creative ways to help kids succeed, and this little tool has been a big hit. 💛

A little tactile cue can make a big difference! 👄
Today we worked on the /f/ sound by using gentle lip-biting cues to help our Bee Heard kiddo learn the correct placement. The /f/ sound is made by placing the top teeth on the bottom lip and blowing air out.
Speech sounds can be tricky, but with the right supports, practice becomes fun and successful. We love celebrating every small step toward clearer communication! 🐝💛

Many parents worry that introducing AAC means giving up on spoken language. The truth is just the opposite.
AAC gives children a way to communicate their wants, needs, thoughts, and feelings right now. When children can successfully communicate, frustration decreases, confidence grows, and language development is supported.
Every child deserves a voice, and AAC is one of the many tools that can help make that happen. 🐝

Requesting and commenting are both important communication skills, but they serve different purposes! 💛
When children learn to request, they’re learning how to get their wants and needs met. As their language grows, they begin commenting to share thoughts, observations, and experiences with the people around them.
A child who says “more” is communicating. A child who says “I see a dog!” is connecting. Both are huge milestones worth celebrating! 🐝✨
