2026-2027 Florida SUS Admissions Matrix

Hey students & families—good news! The State University System (SUS) of Florida recently released its 2026-2027 Counselor Guide & Admissions Matrix, showing the middle 50% admitted stats (GPA, SAT, ACT, CLT) for all 12 public universities in Florida.

STOP BELIEVING THESE COLLEGE ADMISSIONS MYTHS!

❌ “I need a perfect GPA & SAT/ACT score.” →
Many schools are test-optional & look at more than just numbers.
❌ “More extracurriculars = a better application.” →
Focus on a few things you actually love & go deep!
❌ “I must take ALL AP/IB/Honors/DE classes.” →
Challenge yourself, but don’t burn out. Balance matters!
❌ “Essays don’t really matter.” →
They DO! A great essay can help you stand out.
❌ “I need to know my major before applying.” →
Many students apply undecided—totally normal!
❌ “Colleges only care about grades.” →
Nope! Leadership, activities, & work experience count too.
❌ “Once I get in, I’m set.” →
College is a whole new challenge. Time management & networking = key! Learn the skills now to succeed later.
❌ “I should only apply to reach schools.” →
A balanced list (safety, match, reach) gives you better options.
❌ “Private colleges are too expensive.” →
Many offer amazing financial aid—sometimes cheaper than public schools!
❌ “There is a perfect match/dream school for everyone. Only Ivy League schools are worth it.” →
The best school is the one that fits YOU academically, socially & financially.
❌ “Colleges don't care about my senior year classes” →
They absolutely consider the rigor of the course load you take, and many want your midyear grades reported to them. Yes, if you do poorly in semester one or semester two classes, your offer of admission CAN be rescinded.
❌ “Every college has a quota for high school/state/region.” →
Colleges DON'T have strict quotas, but they do consider geographic diversity and balance when building a class. Public universities DO prioritize in-state students because they receive funding.

Yom Kippur, also known as the Day of Atonement, is the holiest day of the year in the Jewish calendar and is observed on Sunday, September 20, and ends at nightfall on Monday, September 21.

Many people of Jewish faith in the United States and globally spend the day fasting and praying.

There is no school for students in the School District of Palm Beach County tomorrow, Monday, September 21, 2026, because it is a designated Fall Holiday.

Use this time wisely - catch up on outstanding work, study for an upcoming test/quiz, and then recharge and relax.
