Today we're spotlighting Florida Member Jaimee Friedlander, LCSW, CCM, owner of Guiding Care.
Where do you practice?
South Florida, serving Palm Beach and Broward Counties.
What led you to the profession of Aging Life Care?
I've always been passionate about supporting older adults and their families, particularly those living with dementia. Aging Life Care was a perfect fit for me. It allows me to combine my clinical background, problem-solving skills, and passion for helping families navigate complex care decisions.
Educational/Professional Background
Master of Social Work from Florida Atlantic University with a Certificate in Aging. Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Certified Care Manager (CCM).
Are you a sole practitioner or do you work for a larger organization?
I own and lead my practice, Guiding Care. www.guidingcarefl.com
Do you have an area of expertise or specialty?
I specialize in dementia care, complex care coordination, caregiver support, aging in place, and helping families navigate healthcare and long-term care decisions during times of crisis and transition.
What do you hope to gain from your ALCA membership?
Continuing education, mentorship, peer support, and opportunities to help advance the Aging Life Care profession.
Areas of Interest in FL-ALCA
I currently serve on the Florida Chapter Board of Directors, participate on several committees, and was honored to be part of the 2026 Emerging Leaders class.
What do you enjoy in your free time?
Spending time with my family and pets, gardening, listening to audiobooks, and enjoying the outdoors.
Any additional thoughts or information you'd like to share?
I feel incredibly fortunate to work in a profession that allows me to make a meaningful difference in the lives of older adults and their families every day. Being part of ALCA has connected me with an amazing community of professionals who inspire me to continue learning, growing, and advocating for excellence in Aging Life Care.
