Why it matters:
Families across Kansas City are facing real challenges from the government shutdown, rising costs, and cuts to SNAP benefits. We wanted to do something meaningful, joyful, and impactful in return.

Fact Check: KC Lunch Debt Still Exists

You may have seen posts claiming that Taylor Swift or Chiefs players paid off all the school lunch debt in Kansas City.

We wish that were true. But it’s not.
As of today, school lunch debt is still a real issue right here in the KC metro — and growing.

No school districts have reported receiving large donations to clear those balances.

That said… we love the heart behind the rumor. Wouldn’t it be amazing?

Until then, our local kids still need us — and we’re working every day to help.
