Finally some warm weather and we will take it! First house of the season with many more to go.

Hopefully this is our last blast of snow before spring is on it's way. Looking forward to warmer weather!

All in the family.
Entrepreneurship runs in the family... our son at TCG Construction , LLC is building our next bed and breakfast. And now we are working on a new shop for our daughter to expand into with her business, Nine 25 + Co. Make sure you check out and follow both of their pages!

If you missed by an inch, it might as well have been a mile.
This is a common problem we come across a lot. The people who previously c***ked this log home did a fantastic job, but the one problem that got them was how thick they applied the c***k. Permac***k recommends 3/8 to 1/2 inch thick for proper bonding to the logs, and unfortunately, this c***k was only 1/4 thick at the most. So we cleaned it up and rec***ked this beautiful home.

Calm before the storm.
As everyone is preparing for the local weather this week, we are preparing this log home and finishing some log replacements for some great customers!

Time for a facelift. Not only do we get the privilege of working on this log home, but also doing it for a customer who is now 100 years old.

As we start working towards the interior and exterior design of our next bnb, who better to build it than our son, Logan Turpin, owner of TCG Construction , LLC. Follow us for his progress!

With cooler evenings around the corner nothing is better than a warm cozy fireplace to snuggle up to......maybe even a cup of hot chocolate with a marshmallow or two.

After removing and re-installing the back door and kitchen window, we pressure cleaned this home and applied two coats of prolux to the decks and house to do the final touches.

Pool anyone?
When the customer opens their home to you to stay while working, and you get to enjoy the game room after a hard days work.

Exterminator and Borate. When you purchase or build your log home, make sure you get started on the right foot. Before you stain and seal your logs, treat all the bare wood with a borate to help fight agaist the wood damaging insects which a good exterminator can do for you. Also, set the exterminator up on annual or semi-annual visits.

Almost Heaven.....West Virginia!
Before Debby pays us a visit and brings rain, we are cleaning this log home today. After the rain passes and everything dries out, we will be applying some Sikkens prolux to this cabin.

Improper application.
There are different ways that stain failure happens, and unfortunately, one is improper application of the stain. That is what happened with this home from the previous owner. So we are blasting off the existing stain and starting back with a clean slate.

Did you know?
When you are staining your log home in the summer, most stains recommend not to apply above 90 degrees. This is not the air temperature, but the surface temperature of the logs which you are applying the stain to. The logs will be much hotter than the air temperature. Work in the shade as much as possible and not the direct sunlight. And stop when it gets too hot.

Master guru.
The men are out in force today c***king the exterior of this log home with permac***k light gray.

Finish Line.
This log home has a lot of unfinished projects that were not completed by the previous owner, so we are finishing the c***king, applying two coats of the Zar platinum in the butternut color and installing facia boards that were missing. Starting to come together!

Prep is everything.
When you prepare to stain your log home, just remember prep work is everything. Properly preparing your logs will help with the life and longevity of your stain, not to mention the final appearance.

Spit shine.
This homeowner had us come do a cleaning, a fresh coat of stain and clear top to give it a spit shine before it goes on the market for sale.
