one of the key parts of photography is light

I would honestly argue that light is more important than anything else when it comes to taking a beautiful image

& with that being said, weddings do not always offer perfect conditions and it’s important to verify that your photographer is confident in a variety of lighting conditions from super warm artificial lighting, to really dark and shaded areas, full sun etc.

I’ve been seeing lots of comments on posts recently of people encouraging others to not spend the money on a professional photographer and instead just get a friend or family member with a phone or a cheap camera to do it for them & this is just a small example as to why hiring someone may really benefit you! 🫶🏼❤️‍🔥

Sergio and NessyMay met when he was a US soldier stationed in Japan 7 years ago. He fell in love with her + her beautiful baby girl that she had been resiliently raising by herself for 6 years prior to them meeting & their precious story only started there.

Their love for one another has crossed oceans. After endless travel, 2 years long distance and not getting to see one another through Covid, they finally got to solidify their unity in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains on the perfect November day with damp air and the most stunning colors. 🤍

Surrounded by their daughter, Sergio’s parents and NessyMays family lovingly watching over the phone-- this family oriented elopement was so so special and goes to show that your wedding day can look HOWEVER you want it to.

Also, to add, the bride custom made the details on her dress !?!! Like what? 😫

my sweet husband snapped a few pictures of me for a wayyy past due introduction on my business page! but honestly I’m way more comfortable behind the camera than I am in front of it 😳

So, hi! My name is Jasmine, although most people call me Jas. 👋🏼

I am a 24 year old photographer based in Blue Ridge, Georgia.

Besides loving to chase people around full speed in the middle of pretty fields, I am also a professional alligator wrestler.. aka mom of 2 little babies 🥰 if you know you know. My son is 3 & my daughter just turned 9 months old & I feel so blessed to have them. Being a mom is honestly my favorite personality trait of mine.

A few fun facts about me:
I love iced lattes, when people laugh so hard they snort, & going on spontaneous adventures.
I’ll never turn down a taco— feel free to test that theory anytime .... 😅

I’m a little cocktail of dad jokes and deep perspective all mixed into one, I love light + love and all things connection & being able to capture people’s lives has been one of my favorite chapters in life.

time doesn’t like to be held
sort of like our babies when they’re no longer babies
it prefers to run—- fast.

and no matter what, there is no catching up.

time doesn’t care if you love sunsets
because sunsets turn into night, and night into day and day into years
and before you know it, life has gone full circle and time caught up with you
and you find yourself scavenging through bookshelfs, flipping through pages, to find any sort of tangible evidence that you’ve lived.

you find an album of photographs of yourself

younger, more energetic, the version of you always on the run and it feels like an old friend reacquainted. You see your husbands laugh lines and your daughters fancy dress covered in dirt. You can almost hear the echo of her laugh in the air with every swish of the page. You sit there remembering who you were, who THEY were, and smile as the two spectrums of your life meet in that moment.

and suddenly a photo doesn’t feel like a photo
it feels like—home.
and something to be held and a sunset that never quite fades
