Greetings from Mile Marker 106 on the Blue Ridge Parkway! We have sold some of our project bikes for other people to finish and enjoy during the off season and we'll be selling another group in the next few weeks. Clearing the backlog has allowed greater focus on some key projects like this Bultaco Astro. The bodywork is done and I'm including a promo picture from Bultaco for reference of what the finished product should be. Many thanks to Nick Taylor for his fine work.

What a great weekend to ride. Royce Day and I road the Blue Ridge Parkway Sunday and hit the twisties on Route 501 on our way back. The 360T was running a little rough but some fine tuning brought it around and Royce was impressed when I took a break waiting for him to catch up on his 1100. Why haven't I been doing this every day? Remember, dress for the slide, not the ride and keep the rubber side down.

Ten years ago I saw a Super Rat leaning against a tree twenty feet off the road near a barn of Route 40 in Ferrum Virginia . It had an cool looking silencer which I had never seen before. A year later it was still there. Then gone. Why didn't I pursue it?

Recently I bought an Alsport Steen from a guy on Craigslist who turned out to be a self proclaimed Anti-terrorist who had written books and had a very strange animation series on YouTube.

On my birthday NOS fenders came for the Steen project and I was really excited until later that day a Franklin County Detective called to let me know the bike was stolen and would need to be returned to its owner. The original owner saw the add and had contacted the sheriff’s department

I would receive restitution when and if the thief was prosecuted. It was not the fella I bought it from who stole it but it had not been his Son’s nor in his living room for the last ten years.

The bikes owner contacted me and came to my shop to get the bike. His name was scratched in the tank. How could I fight it? It was the thing to do.

While visiting and enjoying my bikes he noted that he had a Hodaka Super Rat that was pretty rough from being abandoned by a barn.

“Wait, you’re from Ferrum right? Was the bike twenty feet from the road pointing uphill leaned against a tree?”

Call it karma or whatever you like but that bike was brought to me this evening. Yep, it’s a roach but this bike has one hell of a story and some great before pictures.

We are having the time of our lives! The AHRMA National at Friendsville MD was worth the trip this weekend to deliver Fred Guidi's 74 Hodaka Super Combat after rehab. Rumor has it this was the first Cross country race he had finished in quite a while and we're glad to of served him well! Here are a couple bikes we are wrapping up and next is a unique 1976 YZ125c X. This bike had limited production and was produced with several modifications to make the bike more competitive in the later part of the 76 season.

Saddlemen Presents: The Living And (still) Racing Legend-Dave Aldana

We're cleaning house! 10 bikes sold this month that the new owners will take from projects to show pieces! Never fear we still have plenty of bikes we will be finishing this year but with over 100 bikes we needed elbow room and to let go of some pretty cool bikes to have elbow room to work.

The sun sets an hour later this Sunday and we should get to the low 70s! Forecasted highs in the 60s! It's time to fire up some bikes and rattle the windows.
