It’s that time of year!!

Newest addition to our Mommy/baby lineup is this Comfy Mom Soothing Cream!👶🏼

Did you know that testing done in the 90’s showed that lanolin had up to 17 pesticides? Many times we don’t think about what has been sprayed on the sheep and/or on the food they eat.

Dandelion Acres created an alternative to lanolin for the nursing mom. A mixture of Shea butter, cocoa butter, coconut and calendula infused oils, and Vitamin E make this a completely soothing and safe alternative to lanolin for our breastfeeding moms. Pair this with our non-toxic baby powder and Sleepy Time baby lotion for the perfect baby shower gift!

We’ve been working hard on preparing for our first show of the season! Wrapped and labeled bath bombs in Purple Rain and Green Tea and Chill are all ready for the 4/1 show at Craig Country High School.

We will also be debuting a Mommy/Baby line that includes non-toxic baby powder, sleepy time lotion, and ni**le cream for the breastfeeding mommy.👶🏼

Put the lid on these two sweet infusions this morning! Just a note about homemade concoctions that many people don’t realize:

The TIME that’s put in! 🕰

For these two items there are months involved. First, goldenrod only blooms in this area in the late summer/early fall. You have to get it while it’s there otherwise it’s next year before you can get more. It’s also important to make sure you are harvesting golden rod from an area that is not sprayed with pesticides. This requires some research. Once you harvested the amount that you need, now it’s time to dry. This can take several days or more than a week depending on where you are and how you do things.

Once dried, it’s time to pull the flowers from the stems. I try to be careful with this part as I am slightly allergic, you can make quite the mess, and I try to get only what I want in the jar.

Once you have created your infusion or tincture to your liking, there is an additional 4 to 6 weeks of time before you can start making your end product.

Last night I made a goldenrod Oxymel and goldenrod, calendula, and h**p oil infusion. Labeled them this morning and now we wait!

The end products will be ready just a couple of weeks before Christmas! Handcrafting soaps and products is definitely a labor of love, but it’s so satisfying once it all comes together. I’ll talk later about the benefits of golden rod in oxymels and salves!
