BIOS FARM
Blue Island Organic Sustainable Farm. We grow healthy food for the masses. Urban Agriculture permeates the Southlands!

Just so everybody knows -
Despite the amazing outpouring of support that we received regarding our ability to farm in Blue Island, we will be winding down our operations for the season in the coming weeks.
Yes, BIOS Farm is closing. Bummer, right?
There may be future possibilities for a community farm within Blue Island, but there are many hurdles to face before that time comes.
If anybody is interested in coming out to help close this dang thing down, we could certainly use help. We may also harvest what is in the field for donation to local food pantries, and you can take home some produce for yourself.
Again - Many thanks to the countless people who have called this their community farm for years. It was very humbling to read the countless letters of support that people wrote in even though it was the last minute.
Thank you to all of the MWRD staff and Commissioners that gave us their time and realized that this is a great project and voiced their support for it.
We'll see where we grow from here - Joe / Larry / BIOS
