Every Angel Flight East mission is powered by compassion from the patients we serve to the volunteer pilots who give their time, aircraft, and hearts to help others reach critical medical care.

Recently, AFE volunteer pilot Antonio flew Olivia from her home in West Virginia to UVA Health for treatment related to breast cancer. Olivia, a single mother of two, is currently unable to work while undergoing care.

For families already facing emotional and financial challenges, access to treatment can feel overwhelming. That’s where Angel Flight East steps in, ensuring patients can reach life-saving medical care safely and free of charge.

Living Beyond Breast Cancer American Cancer Society

For patients facing serious medical challenges, access to care can be just as difficult as the treatment itself. That's where Angel Flight East (AFE) steps in.

Recently, AFE volunteer pilot Bruce donated his time, aircraft, and resources to fly Roxanne from her home in Montauk, NY, to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City, completely free of charge.

Roxanne is a hardworking senior who lives alone and has been navigating mounting medical expenses following a recent diagnosis, hospitalization, medications, and ongoing treatments. Her doctors advised her to avoid long periods of sitting due to serious health complications, making the lengthy drive to the city increasingly difficult and exhausting.

Thanks to Bruce's generosity, Roxanne was able to reach the specialized care she needs without the physical strain, time commitment, and financial burden of ground travel.

Thank you, Bruce, for making a difference in Roxanne's journey and for helping hope take flight.

Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center

Recently, 6-year-old Aysa traveled from Erie, Pennsylvania, to the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia to receive the specialized medical care she needs. In this photo, Aysa is joined by her sister, mom, and Angel Flight East volunteer pilot Michael, whose generosity helped make this important journey possible.

At Angel Flight East, our mission is to provide free air transportation to patients who need access to life-saving medical care far from home. Flights like Aysa's remove the burden of travel so families can focus on what matters most, their loved one's health.

Children's Hospital of Philadelphia National Rural Health Association Air Care Alliance

Eight-year-old Owen recently took his very first flight with Angel Flight East as he traveled from Michigan to Children's National Medical Center for specialized medical treatment.

As a single mother caring for a child with complex medical needs, Owen's mom has faced significant financial challenges, including leaving her job to focus on his care. When Owen needed to travel for a procedure, Angel Flight East was there to help make the journey possible.

A heartfelt thank you to volunteer pilots Peter and Dan, who donated their time, aircraft, and resources to fly Owen and his mom safely to and from his appointments. Because of compassionate volunteers like them, families can focus on what matters most: health and healing.

Building connections within the aviation community helps Angel Flight East (AFE) reach more people in need of compassionate air transportation.

AFE COO Jess and volunteer pilots Jide and Warren recently presented to the Experimental Aircraft Association Chapter 216 at Cross Keys Airport. They shared AFE’s mission with chapter members and explained how pilots and aviation enthusiasts can get involved in public benefit flying.

As part of the Experimental Aircraft Association, Chapter 216 is a growing and diverse group dedicated to promoting general aviation and inspiring future generations of aviators. We’re grateful for the opportunity to connect with fellow members of the aviation community who understand the power of flight to change lives.

Together, we can ensure that children and adults can access the medical care they deserve without the burden of travel costs.

Antwyne brings more than 30 years of experience in information security, risk management, and third-party risk oversight across the financial services and financial media industries. Throughout his distinguished career, he has held leadership roles at organizations including The Motley Fool and Vanguard, where he has guided enterprise risk programs, strengthened security frameworks, and advised senior leadership on complex business and technology risks.

A graduate of Chestnut Hill College with a degree in Business Communications, Antwyne also holds multiple industry certifications, including Certified Third Party Risk Professional, Certified in Cybersecurity, and Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control.

His expertise in governance, risk management, and strategic planning will be a tremendous asset as Angel Flight East continues to grow its mission of providing free air transportation to patients in need of life-saving medical care.
