I am pleased to announce that my Baby Food Protection Act, House Bill 507 passed the House 200-3 with strong bipartisan support and now heads to the Senate for consideration.

Today is Latina Equal Pay Day, a reminder that pay disparities continue to affect women across the country, with Latina workers facing some of the largest gaps. Latina women make only .53 cents for every $1.00 for non-Hispanic men. Latina women continue to be underrepresented in leadership roles, making them even more vulnerable to wage theft and workplace sexual harassment.

Equal pay isn't only about a paycheck. It affects a family's ability to save, buy a home, care for children and build financial security.

Over 40 years, this pay disparity amounts to more than $ 1.4 million in lost wages. House Bill 1358, which the Republican controlled Senate has ignored since July 2025, works to repair the pay disparity and ensure equal pay for equal work.

Everyone who does the same job deserves a fair shot at the same paycheck.

Menopause is a health issue, an economic issue and a workforce issue. And women deserve better information about it.

I’m excited to share that my Menopause Education bill, HB 1411, passed the House 189-14 with bipartisan support and now heads to the Senate.

Menopause can increase the risk of cardiovascular disease and bone loss and affect sleep, mood, memory and daily life. The economic impact is significant too: menopause-related symptoms cost the U.S. economy $26.6 billion annually, while women experiencing symptoms see their earnings decline by about 10% within four years. In Pennsylvania, the transition was estimated to cost $215 million in lost productivity in 2023 alone.

HB 1411 would expand access to reliable, evidence-based information about perimenopause and menopause by directing the Department of Health to work with health care providers and other experts.

Because women can’t make informed decisions about their health without access to good information.

Better information. Better care. Healthier women. Stronger workplaces.
