The volunteers, volunteer staff, performers, and you are what make Bloomington Pridefest so fabulous! I think no one could say it better than this years Pridefest chair, Zachary. Pulled from his personal instagram the day after the festival:

Thank you all for coming out and coming together to celebrate the beauty that exists in us. The organizing group worked to be intentionally more community oriented and tried to amplify local talent. I hope that was felt and I hope you saw a little bit of yourself out there yesterday.

These times are particularly daunting and sometimes throwing a party feels like putting a bandaid on an open wound. But we q***r people don’t get tons of opportunities to truly be ourselves without some sort of mask or costume. I hope that yesterday you were able to, even just for a time, release the extra weight society is putting on us now and just be the you who exist at the core of you.

I love you all. I want you all to be safe and healthy. I hope the yesterday felt special. I hope you know that you are special.
