🚫 “I need to burn this off.”
Have you ever caught yourself thinking that after eating? That belief is rooted in diet culture, teaching us that movement is only valuable if it cancels out food.
But movement isn’t meant to punish your body or erase what you ate. Movement is a way to support your physical, mental, and emotional well-being.
When we shift away from exercising as punishment, we create space for a healthier, more sustainable relationship with movement, one built on care, not compensation.
This week, we’re disrupting the myth that food must be “earned” or “burned off.” Your body deserves nourishment, and movement can be an act of support, not repayment.
Welcome to Move with Hope 5K Fun Run and 1-Mile Walk, presented by our Hope Network Mission Impact Partners!
Join us for a morning of community, movement, and hope in support of eating disorder recovery and prevention education through One Hope Project.
This event is not timed and is designed to celebrate moving our bodies in ways that feel meaningful and enjoyable. Whether you choose to run the 5K, walk the 1-mile route, or participate in yoga on the lawn, we invite you to move in whatever way feels right for you.
Check-in begins at 7:30 am with a line-up time of 7:45 am. The Fun Run/Walk will begin at 8:00 am, and yoga on the lawn will also be available for participants who would prefer that option.
Pick up your swag bag and t-shirt on Friday from 4:00–6:00 pm at One Hope Project, 2422 E. Washington St., Suite 204 in Bloomington.
After completing the course, stick around to enjoy food and refreshments. There will be a brief program following the event where prizes and recognitions will be announced.

DISRUPTING DIET CULTURE WITH ONE HOPE PROJECT:
Diet culture tells us our lives begin after the transformation.
After the weight loss.
After the goal is reached.
After we finally become “enough.”
But we shouldn’t expect ourselves
to put our lives on hold while we chase an imaginary finish line.
Your body is not a before picture waiting to become an after picture.
It is the body carrying you through this season, this day, this moment.
You don’t have to earn your worth.
You don’t have to shrink to be valuable. You don’t have to change to deserve love.
The truth is that your life isn’t meant to start later…it is happening right now.
What if instead of obsessing over the “after,” we learned to care for, nourish, and appreciate the body God has given us today?
Because your worth was never found in a number, a size, or a transformation. It was established long before any of those things.
Diet culture taught us to fear hunger. But your body was never the enemy.
Hunger is communication, not failure. It’s your body asking to be cared for, nourished, and listened to.
Healing starts when we stop fighting our bodies and start responding with compassion instead of control.💚
Eating disorders don’t always look the way people expect them to.
Sometimes they look like silence. Isolation. Smiling while struggling in secret.
At One Hope Project, we want to remind people they are not alone.
To bring awareness. To create safe spaces. To speak hope into the places shame tried to live.
Recovery is possible. Healing is possible. And your story matters more than the lies telling you otherwise. 💚
Movement should feel life-giving, not punishing. 💚
Join us for Move With Hope — a morning of community, movement, healing, and hope benefiting eating disorder recovery and prevention education through One Hope Project.
Whether you run the 5K, walk the 1-mile route, or choose yoga on the lawn, this event is about moving your body in ways that feel meaningful and joyful.

The message is serious… the behind-the-scenes is not 😂🎥
Just a few bloopers from One Hope Project and proof that the bloopers are always better than the actual video 😂
You do not have to earn your next meal. You do not have to “start over Monday.”
Diet culture teaches us to live in cycles of guilt, punishment, restriction, and “getting back on track.” But healing looks different.
Your body is not a project to constantly fix. Food is not a reward.
And one meal, one snack, or one hard day does not define you.
Grace doesn’t start on Monday. It starts right now 💚
