Stay awake and aware, rural Dems! It never hurts to check your registration status. Let's be ready to vote well before the big day. In the face of the "voter fraud" witch hunt coming out of the White House, voter suppression will come in a variety of forms. Make sure you're registered, then help register a friend.

Georgia cancels registration of more than 591,500 voters The cancellations are part of Georgia's regular off-year maintenance of its voter rolls but come at a fraught time for voting advocates.

Quick update: Due to the last minute change in venue to allow Pierce Dems to attend the most recent OPA meeting in Waycross, attendance was low for our own meeting. Several speakers made presentations, including Dr. Ingrid Thompson-Sellers, Otha Thornton, Lisa Ring, and Barbara Seidman. It was a lively event with lots of Q and A.

As for more Pierce. Co. specific affairs, these were discussed away from the group at large, and primarily consist of putting forward a proposal to the committee to change the day upon which we meet. In order to avoid any future schedule conflicts with sister organizations in other the tri-county area.
Currently we still meet on the third thursday of each month, but new info will be posted as it develops. As always meetings are open to the public, and if you already attend then bring a friend!
