Do you know a certified teacher who is looking for meaningful, flexible part-time work? Or are you connected to retired educators, former colleagues, or education groups?

We are hiring part-time certified teachers to provide small-group reading and math instruction in local schools during the school day. These positions are a great fit for retired teachers, but all certified teachers are encouraged to apply.

We want to send a special thank you to Jimmy Puckett for six years of service on the Better Basics Board of Directors. Over the years, Jimmy served as Secretary and Chair of the Development Committee before stepping into his role as President this past year.

Jimmy has consistently shown up not just in the boardroom but at our events, as a volunteer, and in every space where our mission comes to life! Jimmy brought steady leadership and a genuine commitment to the children we serve across Central Alabama. We are so grateful for the time, energy, and heart he poured into this organization.
